HOJ Innovations Engineers Largest-Capacity Long-Span Crane in Company History

Custom, engineered-to-fit build marks company’s first crane to integrate extreme length and heavy lifting capacity

HOJ Innovations is pushing its engineering boundaries with the company’s first overhead crane combining extreme span and heavy lifting capacity, measuring more than 126 feet with a lifting capacity of 40 tons. Designed for a customer, the crane will be used in a Utah-based warehouse providing full building coverage with a clear span. Project completion is scheduled for early 2026, with delivery expected in February.

“A crane of this size and capacity required us to expand our abilities and surpass the design parameters we’ve used in the past to meet operational requirements,” said HOJ Innovations CEO, Tim Hoj. “With a vision to expand our capacity and to meet the continually evolving needs of the warehouse industry, we took the opportunity to modify our tools and processes to make this project possible. This crane project establishes a new standard for us and our customers.”

The final product will be a top-riding, double-girder bridge crane. Because the crane exceeds the length of HOJ Innovations’ current manufacturing facility, it will be constructed in four sections. Product delivery will consist of four truck loads, with each girder shipping in two sections, two truckloads per girder. Onsite at the customer’s location, the sections will get spliced together before the install. The capabilities of this crane will allow it to provide total building coverage and heavy lifts throughout the entirety of the warehouse.

In addition to custom fabrication, HOJ’s crane offerings include single-girder bridge cranes, double girder cranes, underhung cranes, gantry cranes, jib cranes, monorail cranes and hoists.
